The Preferred Governmental Insurance Trust has been awarded the Government Financial Officers’ Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its 2010 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report. This represented the first submission by the Trust of its CAFR for GFOA Review.
Preferred now joins over 260 governments in Florida and over 50 of its members in achieving recognition for its government accounting and financial reporting above and beyond annual audit requirements.
Preferred is the only insurance trust in Florida to earn GFOA recognition for financial reporting and is one of less than 20 similar trusts nationwide to earn this distinction.
Board of Trustees Chair Ed Wolf accepted the award at the Trust’s November meeting and commented, “We are delighted for Preferred and for the members of our Trust in the continuing progress of our program. Our solid financial position and achievement of the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and reporting are accomplishments we can all be proud of.”
