The City of Doral was elated to receive the 2016 TOBY Award in the Government Building Category from the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA). The Outstanding Building of the Year (TOBY) Awards are the most prestigious and comprehensive programs of their kind in the commercial real estate industry recognizing quality in buildings and rewarding excellence in building management.
During the competitions, all facets of a building’s operations are thoroughly evaluated. Buildings are judged on everything from community involvement and site management to environmental and “green” policies and procedures.
Without the sleek and modern design of the City it would be quite difficult to incorporate our many innovative programs held here at the City of Doral. While we were recently recognized in the aforementioned TOBY Awards; The City was also recognized as a 2017 Healthy Weight Community Champion.
The Florida Department of Health recognized 98 communities as the 2017 Healthy Weight Community Champions. Florida’s county and municipal governments play an important role in decreasing the prevalence of unhealthy weight in their jurisdictions. The Community Champions program is part of the department’s Healthiest Weight Florida initiative. Healthiest Weight Florida is a public-private collaboration bringing together state agencies, local governments, not-for-profit organizations, businesses, schools, faith-based organizations and entire communities to help Florida’s children and adults make consistent, informed choices about healthy eating and active living.
