City of Davenport Utilizes Training Network Now to Enhance Safety Program

The City of Davenport has been one of Preferred’s superstars. In response to Preferred Loss Control’s recommendations, this City made a huge turn around by establishing a Safety Committee, as well as developing and implementing safety/ risk management programs, policies, and procedures. The entire City got involved from the top down and was able to effect a positive change to the culture of safety at the City of Davenport within one year. This was achieved in part by the City of Davenport’s receptiveness and willingness to work with Preferred Loss Control by utilizing the full complement of services and support available to our Members at no cost. As a testament to this, Steven Hunnicutt, the Chairman of the City’s Safety Committee, has provided the following testimonial:

Preferred has given us tools as a Municipality to train and keep our employees safe. As part of that mission/goal, a Safety Committee was established. The Safety Committee utilized one of the great training tools available from Preferred, which is the Training Network Now (TNN) video streaming service. TNN covers a range of topics such as falls prevention, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) selection, as well as other relevant and important safety topics. The nice thing about these videos is it allows us to present the course in a classroom setting and provide the entire department with one training session verses individually taking the course. We also use the quiz at the end of each video and subsequently open the floor up for discussion. Training Network Now courses are professionally done and are consistently updated. I encourage everyone to look at this site and take full advantage of this free training tool being provided to you as a Member of Preferred. Training Network Now is a great training platform to show your employees they matter, the importance of safety, and that safety is everyone’s responsibility.

Preferred Earns GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for Tenth Consecutive Year

The Preferred Governmental Insurance Trust has been awarded the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the tenth consecutive year for its 2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (Annual Report). Preferred was first awarded the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting in 2011 for its 2010 Annual Report.
