City of Davenport Utilizes Training Network Now to Enhance Safety Program

The City of Davenport has been one of Preferred’s superstars. In response to Preferred Loss Control’s recommendations, this City made a huge turn around by establishing a Safety Committee, as well as developing and implementing safety/ risk management programs, policies, and procedures. The entire City got involved from the top down and was able to effect a positive change to the culture of safety at the City of Davenport within one year. This was achieved in part by the City of Davenport’s receptiveness and willingness to work with Preferred Loss Control by utilizing the full complement of services and support available to our Members at no cost. Preferred Earns GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for Tenth Consecutive Year

The Preferred Governmental Insurance Trust has been awarded the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for the tenth consecutive year for its 2019 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (Annual Report). Preferred was first awarded the GFOA Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting in 2011 for its 2010 Annual Report. Preferred is the first public entity risk pool in Florida recognized as having earned the Certificate of Achievement and is one of about 25 similar trusts nationwide to receive recognition for this distinction. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.
