FAQs
Who will come out to complete damage assessments?
For the most severely impacted members, we have already deployed field adjusters and mitigation teams. For other impacted members, once we receive your claim notice our field adjusters with Engle Martin will contact you within 24 hours to schedule damage assessments at a time that is convenient for you. The field adjusters from Engle Martin are highly trained loss adjusters who will inspect your locations and provide estimates of loss so that we can start the claim adjudication process. This enables us to get payments to you quickly. Your field adjusters will work closely with your dedicated in-house claims adjuster from PGCS. Anyone that is claiming to be from your insurance company that is not an employee of PGCS or Engle Martin is not an authorized representative of Preferred.
Who will complete the repairs to my damaged locations?
Preferred provides for the flexibility of allowing you to choose which vendor will complete the repairs. We have a priority relationship with First Onsite and several other preferred vendors, who can provide full mitigation, repair, and restoration services to you. If you have already started the mitigation process yourself, please take photos to document the damage and make sure we have a description of the damage as part of your claim.
Is Debris Removal covered by my policy?
Community wide debris removal is not covered by your policy. Your Preferred policy does provide for a sublimit of debris removal expense which will pay to remove the debris from a covered loss at a covered location.*
What is covered for additional expense?
Your Preferred policy provides for a sublimit of additional expense coverage for necessary expense you incur during the period of restoration to avoid or minimize the suspension of business operations at the covered location and includes the cost of relocation expenses and costs to equip and operate the replacement location. This includes things like generators, temporary buildings or locations, etc.*
Is water damage covered by my policy?
If you were affected by storm surge or wind driven water, coverage is provided as part of the named storm event. If you are affected by rising waters, this is considered a flood event. Please refer to your coverage agreement to see if you purchased flood insurance.*
What do I do if I need a copy of my policy?
If your Agent is unable to provide a copy of your policy for any reason, our Underwriting department is happy to assist. Please contact [email protected] to request a copy. Additionally, the field adjusters with Engle Martin will have an electronic copy of your policy to complete the damage assessments.
How do I complete my claim with FEMA?
Once we have adjudicated your claim, we will provide all the necessary documentation to support your claim with FEMA. Our claims closeout team can assist you with this process.
