Preferred Member Among Recipients of the 2020 Florida Fire Service Awards

On March 3, 2020 CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis and Agriculture Commissioner Nikki Fried recognized recipients of the 2020 Fire Service Awards.

Among this years award recipients was an associate of one of our members. Preferred would like to recognize and congratulate Claudia Faiola, Fire & Life Safety Educator – East Lake Fire Rescue in receiving the Fire and Life Safety Public Educator of the Year award for 2020.

CFO and State Fire Marshal Jimmy Patronis said, “Today, we honored the outstanding members of Florida’s incredible fire service community who work around the clock to protect Floridians. Day after day these dedicated men and women run towards danger. But it’s not just the firefighters that keep our communities safe. It’s the educators, inspectors, investigators, instructors, volunteers, and training centers that ensure we are protected. I cannot thank these fire service professionals enough for their outstanding service to their communities and our great state.”

The Fire Service Awards are coordinated annually by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and sponsored by the following fireservice related organizations: the Fire Training Director’s Association, the Florida State Firefighters Association, the Florida Fire Chiefs’ Association, the Florida Fire Marshals and Inspectors Association, the Florida Professional Firefighters Association, the Emergency Preparedness Association and the Florida Forest Service.

Preferred would like to congratulate Claudia on a job well done.

Town of Davie Utilizes Clorox Total 360 System for COVID-19 Infection Control

In response to the COVID-19 outbreak, The Town of Davie has taken the initiative to utilize the Clorox Total 360 System to assist with keeping the workplace disinfected for COVID-19.

The use of this system assists with mitigating COVID-19 which can spread through shared surfaces employees regularly touch such as doorknobs, toilets, flushers, desks, light switches, computer peripherals, as well as armchair rests.

The Clorox Total 360 system utilizes an innovative electrostatic sprayer that delivers the Clorox solution to the front, back and sides of surfaces thereby providing superior coverage for a more effective infection control.
